We are one of the most watched societies in the world; yet do we feel safer than our less surveilled neighbours? Surveillance law, oversight and practice needs an open debate and review to preserve our freedoms.

The right of parents to remain with their children in hospital has been established for over forty years. How would you ensure carers of people with dementia are equally welcome in hospital?

Dementia sufferes need our support during times of great stress such as visiting an unfamiliar place like a hospital. I would talk with local hospitals and patient liaison services to to highlight the common sense solution of having a relative stay with sufferers to make any hospital stay less frightening and disorientating.

Should people in Scotland and Northern Ireland have the same free speech protections from libel bullies as their neighbours in England and Wales?
