To what degree should access to information on the internet be restricted by the state or private companies?

organisation: Open Rights Group (ORG)

Individual's own private information should be protected. Companies and government should be transparent about their activies and their expenditures. There are certain types of information that do need to be restricted because they are violent or harmful, for example child pornography.

The right of parents to remain with their children in hospital has been established for over forty years. How would you ensure carers of people with dementia are equally welcome in hospital?

organisation: John's Campaign

There are many institutions and situations where relatives or carers already do stay with adult age patients. I have worked in a hospice and in hospitals where this can happen. I think the biggest change required is a culture change to recognise the value of allowing patients to see their relatives and carers regularly to decrease distress and disorientation. It can also help to allow carers to continue to feel that they are contributing to person's wellbeing. It would require some funding to create comfortable places for carers to stay, but it might create savings by reducing extra time spent in hospital due to disorientation, falls and other such problems.

Governments implement policies that directly and indirectly impact on house prices. Do you think house prices are too high?

organisation: Generation Rent

Yes. The Green Party would work to reduce the cost of buying or renting a house. In this country, a large portion of an individual's income is spent on rent. We also need to ensure that the minimum wage and average income adequate to allow individuals to pay rent, buy healthy food and maintain an adequate standard of living.

Would you support the creation of a Royal Commission to review Britain’s drug laws?

organisation: CISTA

Yes. It is not clear that current drug laws are in the interest of public health.
