Should people in Scotland and Northern Ireland have the same free speech protections from libel bullies as their neighbours in England and Wales?

organisation: English PEN

Yes, absolutely.

The standards of goods and services that are essential, such as food and water, are generally highly regulated. Do you support enforced minimum standards in housing as a precondition of a renting?

organisation: Generation Rent

Yes, absolutely.

Private sector landlords receive over £27bn a year in housing benefit and tax breaks. Would you support a rent tax that recouped up to a third of this to fund new housing supply?

organisation: Generation Rent

Definitely, even more maybe.

Would you support the creation of a Royal Commission to review Britain’s drug laws?

organisation: CISTA

Yes, certainly.

To what degree should access to information on the internet be restricted by the state or private companies?

organisation: Open Rights Group (ORG)

Access here is very sensitive. However regarding a crime access should be allowed by the authorities. With regard to personal preferences, shopping etc etc I don't agree it is a constant chipping away of our privacy and to boost someones sales.

How would you reform surveillance law, oversight and practice to respect the rights of law-abiding people?

organisation: Open Rights Group (ORG)

I choose to regard surveillance cameras as a safety device for many vulnerable people. ie.for single women etc making their way home alone at night .
It is extremely helpful when shoplifters are operating in town centres, as shops talk to one another and the culprits can be caught.

With regard to other persons following, members of the public, it should be illegal to do this. Law abiding people must have rights to privacy if they wish.

The right of parents to remain with their children in hospital has been established for over forty years. How would you ensure carers of people with dementia are equally welcome in hospital?

organisation: John's Campaign

This should be looked at in exactly the same way. If you are the guardian of someone, child or otherwise, because they cannot be left on their own, you should automatically be invited to stay with them in hospital.

Governments implement policies that directly and indirectly impact on house prices. Do you think house prices are too high?

organisation: Generation Rent

Yes, definitely too high, and not even built anymore traditionally with bricks and mortar. They have a plasterboard and wooden framework inside and only a brick skin.

Britain spends £24 billion on housing benefit and less than £1.5 billion on building homes. Do you support an increase in the social housebuilding grant to £5 billion a year to build homes?

organisation: Generation Rent

Social housing is in very short supply, building has to be caught up quickly. I cannot accept that these are then SOLD OFF cheap by giving 70% discounts to the occupants.
there is a housing market for people wanting to buy, other houses could be built, creatively as in Lincolnshire our valuable land is growing over half the food the country provides from our agricultural land, the richest in the UK. Double and triple cropping every year, on year on year.
We need social housing so must not keep abusing the public purse by giving away at such reduced prices homes that are needed for others who do not wish to buy.

Recent polling show that people support rent control by a margin of nine to one. Do you support a rent control that limits rent rises between tenancies as well as during tenancies?

organisation: Generation Rent

If this is social housing a figure should be determined area by area as to availability of services.
If private, then its slightly different as homes could be more individual and of deter layout and design.
