It is essential that we have an effective security system. However, in TUSC we do not condone government policies to access the private messages of ordinary citizens.

To what degree should access to information on the internet be restricted by the state or private companies?

Again, the rights of ordinary people with respect to freedom of expression should not be put in jeopardy., However, freedom of speech should also be balanced by a healthy respect for the rights of all citizens to be free from abuse.

The right of parents to remain with their children in hospital has been established for over forty years. How would you ensure carers of people with dementia are equally welcome in hospital?

By extending the law. The rights of carers in general are understated in this government's policies.

The standards of goods and services that are essential, such as food and water, are generally highly regulated. Do you support enforced minimum standards in housing as a precondition of a renting?

Absolutely. Adequate housing is a basic human right for all people and property has caused huge social divisions in this country.

Private sector landlords receive over £27bn a year in housing benefit and tax breaks. Would you support a rent tax that recouped up to a third of this to fund new housing supply?

Yes, absolutely and moreover, private landlords should be regulated and rents should be monitored by the government. TUSC have transparent policies on this and other housing matters.
