They are too high because they are beyond the reach of the average man

Private sector landlords receive over £27bn a year in housing benefit and tax breaks. Would you support a rent tax that recouped up to a third of this to fund new housing supply?

No because not without flexibility otherwise the landlord would price certain families out of the market

How would you reform surveillance law, oversight and practice to respect the rights of law-abiding people?

organisation: Open Rights Group (ORG)

The surveillance law has really gone too far. The general population feel intimidated by the law in it's present form.
The law should only be used where there is proof by more than one body that it is necessary. I also think the public should themselves be consulted in what form of surveillance law they desire. Democracies consult and do not dictate and create laws that offend the innocent citizen

A simple answer. They should have the same protection

organisation: Generation Rent

I believe there should be rent control because a place to live is the necessity before one can become established in work, a social life or family. Out of proportion rising rents create hardship and insecurity

organisation: CISTA

Yes if those that were taking part in the commission consisted of a cross section of professionals with open minds

Yes but only if the management of social housing improved. They are at the moment badly run especially housing associations
